Boo has been getting sicker and sicker, and today he had a massive nose bleed which took half an hour or more to stop and which prompted me to telephone the doctor to ask whether I should take him for a Swine Flu swab.
He said that they weren't swabbing for it anymore, as the process itself is highly contagious, and that as they had had so many other cases of Swine Flu diagnosed in their surgery, they were able to recognise it and give out free Tamiflu to anyone who showed severe flu like symptoms.
So, I took Boo to the surgery this afternoon. The Doc was able to instantly diagnose Swine Flu from his high temperature and his whole demeanor. He also took one look at me, said "You look awful", took my temperature, listened to my chest, looked in my ears and said "You have it too".
Honestly... I broke out into a huge grin (I'm still spontaneously giggling) at the absurdity of it all! I should definitely buy a Lottery ticket.
We're quarantined until we are better. We both feel like crap. Toto is fine so far (touch wood) as are my parents.

It's not considered dangerous for either of us. Just unpleasant.

I know!! I shouldn't be laughing but it's SO funny!
Poor Boo is really miserable... so sick... and said "Mum, I had the wooping cough and now Swine Flu, maybe something good will happen to me now. Maybe we'll win the Court Case!".
Can't help hoping that he's right.
I mean, I have to believe in Karma, right?
I think right now would be a great time for both of you to pay a visit to DH. Spit on his toothbrush while you're there, and lick all the spoons in his silverware drawer. And cough a lot.

Two of us had it too. Luckily the rest of us escaped, but I was ordered to take last Monday off work... without being docked of a sick day. Awesome. I tell you, that day off was so sweet!

we just got the clear results on our swab.. thankfully, as the little ones asthma has got worse just with the basic flu.

Well.. I am joining you again... don't know about the Swine part, but the flu has definitely entered my house: 3 casualties and one ambulance ride to the hospital... I'd say: never a dull moment hey?

Thanks everyone. It's a vicious flu... Boo has had it much worse than I have. Or maybe that's because I couldn't "give in" to it because I've had to look after him.
As per the Court Orders that are on the table, I notified DH about Boo's Swine Flu asap. So no sneaky infecting possible. Bummer. That was a great idea!

Squishy and I have both had mild fevers for a few days (not more than 38), so while I feel like I have swine flu, it's probably only a cold, and I am over dramatising again ;)
